SALSA

The style of Salsa we teach is called Mambo, also known as New York Style Salsa On2. While many studios in Milwaukee focus on Salsa On1, we’re proud to give you the chance to experience a different rhythm, flavor, and tradition.

At the beginner level (Level 1), you’ll learn the essentials: basic steps, timing, partner connection, and body movement. You’ll also be introduced to the heartbeat of Salsa — the conga drum — and begin to understand how other instruments (like the clave, piano, and horns) guide the dancer. This foundation makes it easier to transition into Level 2 with confidence.

Our program goes beyond steps — we integrate Afro-Cuban movement and musicality so you can connect with Salsa’s roots and dance with authentic expression.

  • Salsa On2 (Levels 1–2) – Build your foundation in timing, partnerwork, musical interpretation, and connection to the instruments.

  • Ladies Styling (Level 2) – Refine your body control, arm movement, and musicality! Express confidence, grace, and power on the dance floor while developing your own personal style. Perfect for dancers with Salsa foundations ready to elevate their style and presence.

At Daync, Salsa is more than just steps — it’s rhythm, culture, and connection.

  • Tuesdays and Wednesdays | 6pm

This class is for anyone with very little to no experience. A partner is not required. In this class you will learn not only your basic Salsa steps, but also learn about the different instruments that are played in Salsa music. We will train your ears to be able to identify and understand how to dance to Salsa on time with confidence. You will heavily train in Salsa body movement and be challenge in different Salsa step variations that prepare you for the partner work classes.

  • Tuesdays & Wednesdays at 7pm

Anyone taking this class must also be taking the shines 6pm class on Mondays and/or Wednesdays. No partner is required. This class focuses on partner connection and the fundamental ‘bread & butter’ moves you need to know as a beginner social dancer.

  • Tuesdays & Wednesdays | 8pm

Refine your rhythm. Own your movement. Step into your power.

Level 2 Salsa Ladies Styling is all about elevating your feminine expression on the dance floor. This class focuses on body control, arm styling, and footwork technique designed to enhance your social dancing with confidence and flair.

You’ll learn how to layer movement with musicality — connecting your hips, torso, and arms to the heartbeat of Salsa. We’ll explore timing, isolation, transitions, and how to project elegance and strength in every step. Expect guided drills, mini-choreography, and styling applications within partnerwork and shines.

    You’ll develop:

    • Fluid arm pathways and shoulder rolls

    • Body isolations, weight transfers, and turns

    • Expression, posture, and confidence through movement

    • Musicality, timing, and sync with the rhythm

This class is perfect for dancers who’ve completed Level 1 or have a solid grasp of Salsa fundamentals and are ready to level up their presence and precision.

🕺 Recommended Experience: 3–6 months of Salsa basics or instructor approval.

  • Tuesdays 9pm

In Level 2 Partnerwork, you’ll take your Salsa foundations to the next stage — developing the technique, timing, and awareness needed to dance confidently with any partner on the social floor.

This class builds on the basics by focusing on:

    • Connection & Frame – refining lead and follow technique for smoother, clearer communication

    • Turn Patterns & Variations – learning intermediate combinations with intention and flow

    • Musicality in Partnerwork – understanding how instruments like the clave, piano, and horns shape partner movement

    • Floorcraft & Spatial Awareness – navigating crowded dance floors with confidence and control

With an emphasis on quality over quantity, Level 2 Partnerwork gives you the tools to feel grounded, expressive, and culturally connected while dancing with others.

BACHATA

At Daync, we don’t just teach the steps — we teach you to feel the music. In our Bachata program, you’ll learn how to recognize the instruments, hear the rhythms, and let the music guide your movement.

We offer two styles of Bachata:

  • Urban Bachata – offered year-round, blending modern style, musicality, and smooth partnerwork.

  • Dominican/Traditional Bachata – offered each summer (June, July, August), highlighting footwork, syncopation, and cultural flavor.

At the beginner level, you’ll build a strong foundation of body movement, footwork, and partnerwork fundamentals that apply to both styles. As you progress, we guide you into musical interpretation, styling, and the cultural roots that make Bachata more than just a dance — it’s a language of connection, history, and joy.

  • Wednesdays| 8PM

This class is designed for anyone with little to no dance experience. No partner is required — just bring yourself and a willingness to learn.

In this beginner program, you’ll build a strong foundation in timing, technique, and musicality. We’ll introduce you to the basic Bachata steps while also training your ears to hear the instruments that make up Bachata music. You’ll learn how to recognize rhythms, stay on time with confidence, and move with full-body awareness.

Along with footwork and body movement, this class emphasizes partnerwork fundamentals. You’ll practice connection and simple single-turn patterns that can be used right away on the social dance floor — whether at a studio social or in a nightclub environment.

Our goal is to help you feel comfortable, confident, and connected from the very first class.

  • Ready to take your Bachata beyond the basics? Level 2 is designed for students who already feel comfortable with their timing, basic steps, and beginner turn patterns.

In this class, we expand your partnerwork vocabulary with new combinations, smoother transitions, and an emphasis on connection and flow. You’ll learn how to adapt your lead or follow to different partners, refine your frame, and start playing with musical accents in your movement.

Musicality remains central — we’ll go deeper into how instruments like the guitar, bongo, and güira shape the energy of the dance, and how you can respond with both your footwork and your body movement. Expect to be challenged with variations, direction changes, and styling elements that add flavor to your social dancing.

By the end of this level, you’ll not only dance with more confidence, but also bring expression, creativity, and cultural awareness to the dance floor.
