More Than Dance. A Movement…

How Daync began

Josh and Amber met in a Salsa class back in 2011 and the rest is history! After a few years of traveling the world and training together, they decided to start a dance performance company: Alma Milwaukee. The academy , back in 2016, originally opened as a rehearsal space for Alma and 8 years later, turned into the largest Latin dance academy in the Midwest!

Josh & Amber are extremely passionate about taking what they’ve learned over the past 13 years and have created a program for anyone with little to no experience to become a confident Salsa and Bachata social dancer.

At Daync Academy, we believe dance is more than steps — it’s confidence, culture, and community. Our mission is to make Latin dance accessible, authentic, and transformative for people of all backgrounds.

We started Daync with a simple but powerful vision: to create a space where anyone — whether brand new to dance or returning after years away — can feel welcomed, inspired, and connected. Over the years, we’ve grown into Milwaukee’s leading Latin dance school by staying true to what matters most: quality instruction, cultural integrity, and a community that feels like familia.

Our Approach

  • Accessibility & Inclusion – We’re committed to breaking down barriers. No partner is required, and we rotate in class so no one is left out. Our corporate inclusion programs bring dance into workplaces and communities, making culture and connection available to everyone.

  • Cultural Roots – We honor the traditions of Salsa, Bachata, and Cumbia by teaching not just movement, but also musicality, instruments, and Afro-Caribbean foundations. Students learn to hear the conga — the heartbeat of Salsa — and understand how the instruments guide the dancer.

  • Growth with Integrity – Our curriculum is structured to help you progress step by step, with clarity and intention. From learning your very first basic to incorporating Afro-Cuban body movement, our classes are designed for real transformation, not just memorizing moves.

OUR VISION

Dance That Uplifts, Heals, and Unites

Dance has the power to uplift, heal, and unite. By expanding our reach through mobile programs, cultural events, and community partnerships, we’re building a future where Latin dance isn’t limited to the studio — it’s an accessible, vibrant part of everyday life in Milwaukee and beyond.

At Daync, you don’t just learn to dance.
You learn how to be more self-confident.
